So, could I use the Astro A20 Gen 2 for example and still get the 3D?ĭoes it work globally like the Dolby Headphone on my A50's or is it going to be just first party titles or select titles that choose to implement it? In which case, is it even worth messing around with my setup, or just carry on with the A50's. We know the controller will allow any 3.5mm jack to access the feature, but what about the USB and USB-C ports? The Pulse 3D works via a dongle, so does any wireless headset via a USB dongle work? Or does the headset need to be authorised or something.

Note: Both solutions use your headphones Dolby audio and won't use the PS5's Tempest engine or 3D audio.Įssentially you are sending audio from your PlayStation to an adapter via HDMI which then extracts the audio and sends it back to your headset base station via the optical cord. There are two solutions to restore the audio you're used to. Mine sounded echoey, tinny, and horrible. The headset can't handle receiving the 3D audio from the Playstation through USB alone.
